Truth Emerging on Unencumbered K-12 Education Funds
By Paul Soutar on December 27, 2010

What could Kansas do with an extra $743 million? That’s a question legislators and the governor-elect want answered.
Kansas K-12 schools had $1.567 billion in unencumbered or carryover cash on July 1 and as much as $743 million of it could be made available for discretionary spending by school districts, according to state government research.
Those numbers, released in November, came as a surprise to legislators who were told in April, during final 2011 budget deliberations, that schools’ carryover balances would be $1.156 billion, $411 million lower than they actually were on July 1.

Republican leaders in Topeka want to put some of the carryover money to use.

Hispanic Activist Threatens GOP over DREAM Act

An official with the nation’s leading Hispanic civil rights organization has issued a warning to Republicans who helped defeat the DREAM Act in the Senate, suggesting Latinos could retaliate in future elections.

Clarissa Martinez, director of immigration and national campaigns for the National Council of La Raza, said: "The most immediate repercussions are that, particularly those members in states where the Latino population has political influence, they’d better watch out." OUTRAGEOUS! - Ousted Dems & Rino's PASS House Amnesty

TELL SENATE GOP TO FILIBUSTER AMNESTY VOTE TODAY

ALERT: OUTRAGEOUS!!!!  The Dept. of Labor reported that unemployment in America jumped up to 9.8%. 68% of legal working Americans are against AMNESTY and the Ousted Lame Duck Dems and RINO's in the House voted to give AMNESTY to ILLEGALS.

It is incredibly ARROGANT to  give away citizenship and money for college to millions to criminals up to the age of 35 in the U.S. illegally and remain permanently and legally in the United States

"The beneficiaries of the DREAM Act are the kind of Americans we want,"  said Democrat House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.

Democrats are pushing the bill in the Senate TODAY. The proposal's success is much less likely as a GOP filibuster will require 60 votes for passage. GOP support is uncertain but the Senate shot down a similar measure in 2007, most of the opponents at the time haven't changed their positions over the last three years and AMNESTY MUST BE DEFEATED AGAIN.

Secure The Border - (Sarah Palin)

Arizona has become the center of a renewed national focus on border security and illegal immigration since Governor Brewer signed SB1070.  For too long the calls to Washington have been unanswered and the border remains unsecured.

Arizona Sing-A-Long: Read Immigration Law!

However, instead of taking action to help, the state has come under attack by people who are misrepresenting Arizona’s laws and trying to hurt our efforts to support the rule of law. They include President Obama, Al Sharpton, the East Coast media, and political strategists who are trying to use the issue of illegal immigration for political gain.

Brewer and Palin-Secure The Border’s

The calls for boycotts and misrepresentation of Arizona law only hide the real problem – the need to SECURE THE BORDER.  We’re asking citizens from across the United States to stand up in support of Arizona and the need to secure the border.
